Himmarshee Public House does not disappoint with their inviting, comforting cuisine and decor.  Wrap-around booths, tall tables and marquee lights create the perfect portrait of a vibrant downtown evening and interestingly makes the marriage of comfort food in the big city a happy pairing. In so many ways, it is easy to feel like you have been provided with your own personal treasure in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Considering that South Florida is seeing a resurgence in Southern comfort food,  taking on a popular sect of cuisine requires a substantial amount of creativity and a lofty knowledge of flavor to be able to make a dish uniquely signature.

Himmarshee Public House seems to have the formula right. The new restaurant offers a bevy of choices that are sure appease the palate of any restauranteur, from the patron looking for an inviting atmosphere to watch a game for the evening, while hanging out with friends, to the avid local foodie.  Public House offers the typical ingredients needed to conjure the perfect meal with unique touches that make the dishes uniquely their own. If the spicy lamb ribs ($12) don’t catch your eye, then the lobster nachos, served with guacamole, jack cheese, habanero-mango salsa and cilantro, ($14) are sure to merit a second glance. Check out a few of our favorite dishes. The restaurant will be open to the public on Friday November 8th. We are happy to report that the restaurant is indeed Worthy Approved.

Social Media: Quality over Quantity

Featured

Many believe that the way to make an impact with social media is by having the greatest number of followers; but if your followers are not interested in your blog, your website, or your business, then what good are they? More success will be evident when you focus on the quality of your friends and followers, rather than the volume.

The people who you associate with make an impression on your overall reputation and appearance. If you are following several writers on Twitter and LinkedIn, you likely have a serious interest in writing, and the same is true for any career path or interest.

However, if you are following the people who have “I follow back” or “want more followers?” in their profile bio, then the credibility for your own Twitter is significantly reduced for those who are serious about networking.

When used strategically, social networking can be very valuable for entrepreneurs, job seekers, or hobbyists. It is like word of mouth–which many of us know to be the most effective form of advertising–only it’s easier, more effective, and more powerful.

Enjoy your time on the Internet and make it meaningful. Do not follow people just to hope that they follow you back, and do not go out there looking for a greater number of followers or connections. Obtain quality contacts who give great recommendations, have similar interests, and care about what you have to offer. Don’t just get followers, get networks.

The Seemingly Evasive Entrepreneurial Dream

Featured

Being an entrepreneur is hard work, and aspiring entrepreneurs know this like Jay-Z knows how to rap. If it is your dream to own your own business, the important thing to remember is to never give up.

However cliche it may sound, it is the truth. You may or may not have a full time job (in your dream entrepreneurial industry or not) and you may or may not have a house, a husband, and a child to attend to, but chances are you are one busy woman.

Either way, your dream make-your-own-schedule-don’t-answer-to-anyone-career is staring at you in the face like a mime waiting for a tip.

Time is not on your side, of course, for he disappears like a magician before anyone can mutter the word success. With wishful thinking and good intentions, we think he’ll return, but he is gone forever in the blink of an eye.

The best way to make your entrepreneurial dream come true is to devote as much time as you can, but not so much time that it makes you crazy. It’s just as important to enjoy life as it is to follow your dreams.

Key elements to realizing your success are passion, persistence, and patience; with passion being the most essential aspect.

Without passion,  you are not driven, and without persistence, you might give up.

Success does not come quickly, and if you are stressed, if you are worried, or if you are hopeless, remind yourself about how much you love your passion.

Enjoy the climb to the top and never give up.
